Peterson Capital is an alternative investment platform that seeks out opportunities in the public securities, private equity and structured lending sectors.
Peterson’s status as a private company enables it to maintain maximum flexibility in its investment strategy, allowing the company to be opportunistic and responsive, and to allocate investments to different risk profiles. It has no mandate that confines its investment horizon, and the company aims to maintain a diversified portfolio of risks in its portfolio. Consequently Peterson looks at a range of investments from early on in their growth path to advanced businesses at the pre-IPO stage.
When the company reviews a new investment, it first assesses the macro industry, currency and geopolitical risk of the proposed project before delving into its management, financial, and operational risks. Being an entrepreneurial company, Peterson is impartial as regards to industry and geography. It works closely with different family offices and institutions globally as it likes to leverage the combined network, deal flow, and geographic and industry expertise to maximize the value of its investments.
Structured lending is often backed by listed company securities, property, or other forms of collateral. For property, the company would look into both investment and development possibilities, and is open to either the senior or junior position in the arrangement. Since Peterson has extensive knowledge in property, it is also able to give free rein to more risk appetite than traditional financial institutions.
