The site of 39 Conduit Road was acquired through various stages of site assembly with Peterson’s partner. The building – completed in August 2009 – is currently the tallest building in the west Mid-Levels of Hong Kong, enjoying a panoramic view of Victoria Harbour. Owing to the strategic location and the limited supply of large new sites in the vicinity, the partnership decided during the planning phase that the development should be positioned to set a new standard for luxury high-end apartments in Hong Kong. Consequently the building was designed for low-density, large units with unique but practical floor plates. In order to maximize the view, the partnership decided to take on the structural challenge of building out smaller units on the lower floors, and increasing the floor plate size on the higher floors.
Not only has this remarkable project won numerous awards, but a special unit was sold for HK$103,762(US$13,303) per sq ft, making it the most expensive apartment to be sold in Asia on a per square foot basis.
