Double Cove is a unique project, beautifully located on a peninsula between two scenic bays – Starfish Bay and Wu Kai Sha Beach (also known as To Tau Wan) – amid picturesque natural scenery, yet conveniently located with connectivity to the railway system in Hong Kong. The project began with site assembly of agricultural land, following which the consortium applied for planning permission to convert the site into a large-scale comprehensive residential / commercial scheme.
When the change of land use was approved, the company decided to appoint the internationally renowned architect / designer Lord Richard Rogers as the master design architect for the site, with the aim of developing a world-class natural community. Lord Rogers spent ten years devising and perfecting the concept of the project, which is centred on the theme “Living in a Park”. To enrich the project, the project company also decided to install a number of artworks from renowned local and international artists to create a mixed collage of nature and culture.
